Hotel Katerina is a newly constructed boutique hotel in Chico, California, offering stylish accommodations and a focus on local experiences. Guests consistently praise the hotel’s design, friendly staff, and unique rooftop bar, Rancher’s Daughter restaurant, and comfortable rooms. However, some reviews express concerns about limited dining options and location relative to the downtown area.
Hotel Katerina’s roof deck was the perfect spot to host our business networking event. The view was beautiful. The food was delicious and set out in a very inviting and accessible way. The deck area had plenty of standing room but also many seating areas for small group conversation. We’re already discussing when we will host our next event with the fantastic team at Hotel Katerina.
Visited June 8th 2026. This place is new and about 2 years old. It is located in Chico California. My niece graduated from CSU and we celebrated her graduation with a small gathering. This hotel is sleek and clean and new! Love the swimming pool (lap swimmer) and jacuzzi! Best is I brought my puppy and they are dog friendly! They have a restaurant on the main floor and rooftop dining( my niece was excited about that!). The restaurant is called Ranchers Daughter that prides themselves in farm to table food. It was clean...quiet..with hospitable employees in a classy yet relaxing atmosphere. Full bar on site. A must go...either to stay or eat at Ranchers Daughter !
Stayed one night and regret not staying longer to enjoy all the amenities. The restaurants various eating areas to accommodate a quite dinner or more social ambiance. Food is great original dishes and fresh ingredients. We enjoyed happy hour and breakfast next day. Customer service : all staff was very welcoming, friendly and atrnetive.
My wife and I journeyed to Chico’s gentle embrace, To Katerinas lively space. From the moment we crossed the threshold’s gleam, An extraordinary welcome felt like a dream. Check-in swift, with warmth and grace, A friendly smile adorned each face. The hotel, a canvas of beauty and art, With every amenity that soothes the heart. Nestled where shops and eateries blend, A perfect place where days extend. Though the on-site fare calls with charm’s tune, Many delights await beneath the moon. With memories made and joy anew, I long to return and bask in the view.
Rooms are clean and nice as the hotel is about a year old. Service in hotel & rooftop bar and restaurant was good. Room service… well that’s a different story. Took 3 days to change the sheets . This was with 4 notifications (calls & front desk). Location isn’t near the charming downtown area but is located around a little shopping area with many fast food & chain restaurants. You be the judge.
We stayed for one night in the balcony king. The hotel itself is beautifully and thoughtfully decorated. Room was spacious, clean, and decor was awesome down to the bit drawer pulls. We had the valentines special at the restaurant and the food was fantastic, so was breakfast the next morning. Staff were all kind, professional, and genuinely seemed happy to be there. We will definitely find another reason to visit Chico again so we can stay here.
Great new hotel. So close to shopping areas, Delicious food and cocktails at their restaurant, and a super fun rooftop bar that has a great view. The music is a vibe. I found out it was family owned too, and they named it after their daughter. The chicken sandwich is SUPER good with really yummy sauce. Truffle fries with parm are amazing. The NY strip was delicious too. The bed was really comfortable and the rooms are spacious with HUGE Samsung TVs. Robes available in the room, green & pink! You gotta stay here especially if you’re visiting Chico State and want to be nearby. I didn’t get to try the fitness center but they have a heated pool for the winter, sauna, hot tub, and steam room all included.
We are locals and stayed at the hotel as a little staycation to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We loved this hotel! So stylish and comfortable. We had a king size bed with a balcony and the room was huge! The service was amazing. Whenever out of town relatives or friends come to Chico we will tell them to stay here!
Loved the vibe of this hotel! This may have been my first and last time in Chico (from SoCal so the drive was LONG), but I’m so privileged to have spent it at the Hotel Katerina. I drove in with my boyfriend to attend a wedding in the area and let the desk attendant know when she inquired, and when we returned from the wedding she remembered and asked how it was! Something so small yet so meaningful to know that the staff there take the time to get to know the guests even on a surface level. The food from Rancher’s Daughter was absolutely delicious, 10/10 no complaints! Not to mention they have a gym with a sauna AND a steam room?? My boyfriend absolutely loved that addition to the hotel. In the event I ever find myself in Chico again, I would definitely make this hotel my destination again. Thank you Hotel Katerina for making my short stay a trip to remember. Also that complimentary peanut brittle?? I almost ate myself sick on that it was splendid!
We live locally and booked this room for a last minute staycation. What a pleasant surprise! Stepping inside was like a fancy Winter Wonderland. The decor is adorable, the staff is friendly and the price was reasonable. They have a good amount of EV Chargers, but if you have a Tesla you need to have the little adapter. If you don't have one, Target has a Tesla supercharging station literally a stone's throw away. There's a rooftop bar that looked fun, but it was too cold while we were there. The rooms are decorated very nicely and the coffee pour-over was a nice change from pods. Note- There's a price list for the room bar, snacks and coffee. It says coffee is $20, but I verified with guest services that the charge is only if you take the little container, so drink all the coffee you want! The bed was very comfortable and floors are wood or vinyl so you don't have to worry about the foulness of carpet!!! Another note on prices- the in-room snacks are local from Lundberg rice, Sierra Nevada/Joy Lynn's and Maisie Jane's. They are all very good brands, all of which I buy routinely. The prices were pretty fair for these, I didn't notice much of a price hike.
