The Heritage Inn Express receives mixed reviews, with significant concerns regarding cleanliness, room conditions, and billing practices. While some guests appreciate the reasonable price and friendly staff, recurring issues with dirty rooms, bed bugs, and disputed deposits significantly impact the overall experience. Newer reviews highlight a decline in service quality and maintenance.

Decent room for the price however the bed was springy and a little rough to sleep on. The room smelled of cigarette smoke bad and I am a smoker myself and the smell had me green... With that said staff was friendly prices where low it served it's purpose a place to sleep for the night while visiting family..

By far the worst hotel i’ve ever stayed at. ACTUALLY SO GROSS. the service isn’t even worth it. honestly you would be better off somewhere else.

Downtown area, central to a lot of different restaurants & activities. Simple & nothing fancy but it's a great little place, has everything you'd need from a hotel

If I could rate 0 stars I would. The room was dismal, nails protruding out of the flooring, lighting fixtures hanging crookedly from walls, and cleaning service must be requested each individual day of your stay, or your room will be skipped. Breakfast? Joke and a half. The lazy hostess didn't even put out coffee both mornings I was there. She even waited for people to show up for breakfast BEFORE beginning to put out food(over an hour late mind you). I will highly recommend staying in any other hotel in Chico, rather than stay in this desolate slum.

After renting a room for three nights, I arrived to find the room dirty, deadbolt not working (if you know the area.. ?), zero working/available outlets, and a heavy chemical smell creating allergic reactions. I requested to switch rooms and was provided the option of moving upstairs (no elevator access/disability related) or a downgraded room. I requested a refund for my 20 minutes in the room so I could stay elsewhere. They kicked me out of the lobby after telling me the receptionist was dysregulated "as well". Neither of us yelled or cursed, so I guess there is that? I requested my cash deposit back many times and it was repeated to leave the lobby. I did. Police retrieved my cash deposit. They charged me for the night anyway, despite telling police they'd refund. Because of this, police were kind enough to help me aquire lodging that night due my health creating danger in this weather. I can not access necessary lodging because of their refusal to refund for services I didn't get to receive, putting my health at risk. Again. I'd highly recommend to ask to view the room before signing anything. This was my second stay here and the first go around was just fine. The woman with flower tattoos on her arm is a sweety. Stear clear of "Fae". ?

Room was clean & bed was very comfy. It's obviously old & little worn, but most important is that it's clean. The staff is nice, breakfast is included.

spoke to a lady at front desk PRIOR to booking/checking in , inquired as to internet on TV , if it is possible to use a fire stick or roku device , she answered internet is a Lil sketchy but YES ! so I booked a 3 night stay & I was Givin a room at end of motel... TOO FAR FROM ROUTER ! NO INTERNET ON TV ! Gee thanx ! I wouldn't recommend staying here for more than one night wit boring cable like tv ! & who's ta say internet works in other "closer" rooms ! SMH 2025 & your router doesn't REACH ALL ROOMS !!!

This is my second stay at Heritage Inn. First visit was great!! Which is why I came back. Upon arriving this time I arrived 40 minutes before there check in. I was charged $22.00 for that. And I have my dog in tow. $15 per day for him. Last time I wasn't charged tax on that. This time I was. When I left. I was charged $30 for a stained coverlet. Which was from walking on there dirty floor. It just needed washed. I WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN! I had a cockroach come visit the first night

Checked into this hotel, wasn’t expecting greatness but I didn’t expect to be charged $100 deposit and not get it back after finding cockroaches in the room. It was my friend and I no child no dog but apparently there was a call from our room about a child peeing the bed and them not wanting to clean it. And then our room smelt like dog even tho we didn’t have a dog. So there goes $240 down the drain. Thanks for the scam Katy.
