We've stayed here twice now over the weekend when family came up to visit from Nevada and got us a room, so we could spend more time with them! My daughters really enjoyed staying and spending time with their grandma! She took them swimming in the pool and then they all relaxed in the hot tub! Both times we've stayed, we got the same room and it was very clean and had everything we needed!! The room had a big bathroom with shower/tub combo, 2 beds with a nightstand between them, a small table with chairs, dresser, TV, small coffee maker, microwave* and mini fridge that holds a few small items! Overall, Ponderosa Gardens is a great place and very friendly! They also have a gift shop inside the office and they have some pretty nice stuff- be sure to check them out! ? *We did have an odd and unexplainable something happen--not once but twice.... First time we stayed here, around 4:30-5AM, the microwave randomly started all by itself- it was really weird and kinda spooky. My boyfriend and I had just gotten up at 4 to finish a banner for our daughters soccer game that morning; we were no where near the microwave when it started- nothing had happened--no surge, no flicker, nothing. Needless to say I made my boyfriend unplug it after it stayed on for a good minute or 2. Second time here, over the Halloween weekend; again for no reason the microwave decided it was going to come on again randomly, waking me out of a dead sleep around 3:45AM and stay on for a few minutes, then turn off for 10-15 minutes before turning on again! It did this several more times before it completely stopped.
Lovey place to stay, employees are great and go beyond for guests room was updated.I stayed there for 10 days for work and honestly if I was to work in paradise again this is the spot I would stay.
In the summer of 2015 we spent a month in the Ponderosa while waiting to close escrow on the home we purchased in Paradise. My only complaint is that they don't offer a weekly rate with some sort of discount. Sleeping at night was better and quieter than in our former home which we just sold in Orange County. The pool is small but clean, and the free breakfasts were excellent. When I see the bad reviews here all I can say we never had a bad experience in the Ponderosa. Mike Gordon, Paradise CA 95969
I was very happy with my stay at Ponderosa Gardens Motel in Paradise, CA. Motel staff were very nice and accommodating, especially in the unfortunate event that the shower needed to be repaired and I was given access to the adjoining room. Breakfast was included, and my kids had a blast and lived in the swimming pool for most the duration of our stay. I'll definitely be returning very soon for pool access!
We have stayed here more than 15 times in the past 10 years and it is a true Paradise in Paradise! They have redecorated and updated their guest rooms since the 2018 Camp Fire (which unfortunately took two of their outer buildings) and each room is beautiful and soooo comfortable and huge! High vaulted ceilings beautiful furnishings large flat screen round TV. Each room I've been in has a nice dual reclining leather loveseat, table with two chairs, beautiful paintings to match the color mood of the room and a few other decorative touches that make you feel at home. The doorway to each guest room is directly accessible to space to park. The room has a mini kitchenette with mini fridge that has a separate freezer, microwave, coffee service, bottled water etc. plus roomy cabinet space. The bathrooms have a small window close to the ceiling that are screened if you desire fresh air, full tub and shower, and sink with room to spare not tight fit. There is a vanity with another sink outside the bathroom opposite a sizeable mirrored closet with hangers iron/full size board and all of the small amenities expected. At the wall to the inner garden and pool courtyard the room has a sliding glass door with black out curtains, sliding screen door all locking of course that leads to your own covered patio with 3 outdoor chairs amd small table to enjoy the amazing gardens. The entire property has a plethora of healthy, prolific plant, flower and tree varieties will amaze you with the detailed landscaping, lattice with vining greenery, stones and sidewalks. The inner courtyard gardens surround an wrought iron fenced kidney shaped pool and bubbling round hot tub! There are more than ample choice of modern outdoor furniture groupings around the pool with large umbrellas. Outside the pool on the soft rolling green grassy areas there are some picnic tables placed quaintly. I could write 4 more paragraphs about Ponderosa Gardens Motel and the wonderful atmosphere and amenities but you will be very happy when you stay there and discover them on your trip!
It's a little pricey but worth it. Nice spacious out door. Very personable. Clean and the grounds are well kept.
Beautiful grounds, pool and clean, comfortable rooms. Solid continental breakfast choices and surprisingly great coffee. The staff couldn't be nicer. If you're looking for an old school, awesome motel experience, stay here! A+
Let me start by saying I have never stayed here and after what I was told today never will. Back frist part of March of 2025 some one working there found a female dead in a room. And today I was talking to a guy who said he was her son. He all so said that her car keys where missing as well as a few debit cards and or credit cards. The one account he has been able to check on had over 80k in it. By the time he checked it had $5.00 left in it. He all so said there was other personnel items missing. Makes me wonder what the worker did with her stuff be for call 911. We will never know. But if you stay here be very careful with what you keep in the room when not it. And hope you don't pass away. They might steal your stuff be for calling 911
